GETTING BETTER AND BETTER
Hi All,
luckily, the conditions have been perfect for me, to start getting in the water little by little. not too strong wind and pretty flat, so no risk.
today we took our little waterproof camera in the water to have fun with the friends, and it was the highlight of the day!! we need to improve our skill shooting, but it was good to get some practice. It is not the most radical action, but I promisse you we had loads of fun. Little Philip (well, not so little anymore, he is as tall as JOhn already at only 14), was doing bloody doubles out of chops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! F*CKING IMPRESSIVE.... you have a little pic of him shakking... he loves that move!
I am already putting my foot in the footstrap and it feels fine, even doing some small jumps. Everyday i feel a little improvement. I was supposed to go to Lanzarote to film for a DVD, but with a forecasted swell of 3 m , i dont think it is very sensible to go as i am still shitting my pants whenever i do anything. Yesterday i felt confident and thought: "well, i think i could try a spock already"... and i went for it, but not very confident, so half way through, just after poping, i regreted and tried to stop: bad call, i landed sideways fully pressing the bad foot against the footstrap, were my scar is... so I decided to take it easy till monday. new week, new challenges.... we'll see... I hope by then i can put up some more "action pictures". The conditions should improve soon...
here you have some pics from us...
have fun people!

SAILING!
Hi!,
I went sailing for the first time today!!!! well... didnt put my foot inside the footstrap so i couldn't really sail properly, but i was out for about an hour. So good to be back on my baby Fanatic board and have the feeling of my Severne SAils and everything!! so glad!!!!!!! The day was prefect as it was not too strong wind and pretty flat. It is such a weird feeling. You think you are going to hurt yourself, or that you shouldn't be sailing because you are going to get hurt, but I guess you have to go through that. it hurts sometimes, but it is getting better, and they say it is normal that it hurts and that it will hurt for quite a while. I have a long work ahead to catch up... but no worries, it is what it is and I will try my best, cant wait to be able to sail full power in nice conditions. One thing I realized was how my brain just switches off when i am sailing.. i can just be out there thinking nothing, just sailing, just being... soooooo nice!

Then when we came back home, there was an amazing sunset, so we went to the seafront to enjoy it. It is that time of the year when sunsets are at their best here in the North Shore.

Then, lastly, here you have a video about my last session at the Physiotherapy at Fisiodep with Javier Iglesias. In the last exercise, you cant appreciate it in the video, but i am standing in a vibrating platform that makes your work out like hell!!!!!! quite good for you though... best Physio around definetly!!!

LOVING BEING BACK ON THE WATER!

They let me go surfing already!!! so I am loving it!!! (I love surfing, but i am just crap at it!!!) but just being out there is fun, love it!. Though yesterday morning i was so scared of hurting myslef again that i was shaking!!!! the hardest bit is actually to walk on the beach, with the rocks! we bought that water proof camera, so i took it on the water to play with it a bit with a mate... here are my firs attempts! great fun! and sailing is just around the corner.
but it is soo scary everything!!! after surfing and the physio and all the exercise the foot hurts a bit, and I always think that i will hurt it... but they say there is no way i could, that it is 100% healed... anyway.. i just dont want to be sitting on my arse any longer"

FIRST TIME ON BOARD!
Yesterday we went to Rosneigr, there is the one of the wave events there at the moment. unfortunately, there was no wind, but John Hibbard brought some paddle boards with him. the sea was like a mirror... so nice, still and glassy that i thought it was the perfect day to jump on a board for the first time. Plus I think it is really good for the balance of the foot and all that. it was great fun actually!

CHATTING WITH THE FUTURE...
Just before I left for the UK, I went down to Pozo to sit down and have a chat with all the kids that are sailing here in Gran Canaria. they are Philip and Kira Koester, Jose Estredo, Omar Sanchez, Pablito and Mortiz. they are from 13 to 17 and you honestly wouldn't want to have a contest with them.
The Spanish Magazine Fuerza 7 has been a while trying to get them together, so now that I am still not sailing but already driving, I had time to sit and have a chat with them. the interview will come out soon in Fuerza 7, and you will be impressed about these kids, no only about their sailing skill, but about how nice they all are, how much they love windsurfing and how nice it is that they are growing up with such an interest in sports and the windsurfing lifestyle. So dont miss this interview when it comes out.

IN THE UK
Hello,
I am in the UK at the moment. It is a pity, because they are celebrating the National Windsurfing Week, but unfortunately there is no wind! well, waiting is part of this sport!.
I got a massive surprise!!!! John brought me a surf board from Maui...sick! I have wanted a "fish" type board for a while, so I am stocked!
And lastly, I got this two clips from the guys from the Tricktionary... not much, but is all I have new about windsurfing at the moment!!! i hope you like it!.
I will put a little vid about all my progress soon. I am walking nearly properly already and I have done massive progress in the last four days! i think i will be in the water soonish.

JUDGING AT THE SECOND REEF EVENT IN POZO

Hello,
yesterday it was quite a fun day. It was the Second Reef Event in Pozo, and the organizer said if I could help them with the judging. Now that i am already driving (yeah! freedom!!!) I drove down to Pozo for the first time in aaaaaages!!!!! it was super fun! really good conditions (the guys on 3,7 and nice waves), so we stayed there all day. Orjan Jensen won, but the level was just amazing!!!! Pablo Ruiz, the shaper was second, Dario Ojeda third and Luca Orsi fourth. I didnt have my camera, so I only took this one while judging with the phone. I guess i will put some more pics up in a couple of days if the wind comes back and they keep running the double. The kids were super impressive too. Philip Koster was just insane! and Alessio is ripping too, his riding is really impressive. as soon as he gets a bit bigger he is going to be super good. there were other kinds showing realy good potential: a very little kid from Pozo, Pablo, he was going for forwards on a board that was MASSIVE for him, and with those crazy condition... amazing. Then Moritz and Ole were also ripping going for backloops and forwads.
The other pic is from my friends a couple of days ago on the North Shore.
