WHAT-A-KOOK

Man! I sailed like a total kook today. the weekend was awesome and even yesterday I kind of had fun and landed a few things. so I was expecting it to be fun today, but I wasnt in the zone or whatever you want to call it. and I was just crashing... I couldnt think straight on the water. plus there was like over a million people on the water!!!!!!!!!! and, because I am not very clever sometimes, instead of call it a day, come in and go for a coffee and read my book, I stayed out for over two hours trying to change the session into a good one. noway. the more I crashed, the more annoyed I got and the more I wanted to keep trying to improve. totally wrong. believe me, when that happens, come in... dont keep going. now I am dead, cause I sailed for way too long... ay, ay, ay... when will i learn.... oh well.... tomorrow I will try not to sail to breath a bit... and hey!!!! some good news!!! Sylt is back for the girls!!! we didnt know if we would have the event for us the girls or not, and in the end we do!!!

SUP: 11 CITY TOUR WITH ANNE MARIE REICHMANN

My friend Anne-Marie has been working really hard for the past few years to put together this event. It is an SUP event where they will link 11 cities in Holland by SUP through the channels. it will take place from the 1st until de 5th of September. GREAT WEEKEND: VARGAS FESTIVAL

This weekend we had, like every year and organized by Marcos Perez, the Vargas Windsurfing festival. on Saturday we had the wave competition. and we had some awesome conditions. Good strong wind and decent waves. I was the only girls so i entered the men competition. I passed two rounds agaisnt the boys, so I was quite pleased!! the boys were ripping!!. Jaime Oshanahan sailed the best I ever seen him with big one handed backies, and Pablo Ruiz was too, but the final was between the Josep
Pons and the Pozo wonder-kids Alessio Stillrich, Omar Sanchez and Jose Romero. Alessio won! he did a pretty danm good double and took the victory with it! they did doubles in nearly all the heats! amazing! . then today sunday we did a race. From Vargas up to El Burrero and back down. pretty good fun!!!!! i hope i can find some pictures from the evnt soon. so far, a sequence from a vide and also some other frame grabs..

REALLY GOOD CONDITIONS TODAY

Today we had a pretty good day in Pozo (tday friday, the post says staurday cause is over midnight now...). Pretty strong wind and some decent waves. Had so much fun and got killed a few times.. good fun though! tomorrow saturday looks still pretty good, so let's see if we can have another good day!

FUN DAY, TODAY OFF..

Yesterday we had a fun day in Vargas. I was on 3,3 pretty powered up. I sailed with the bad shoulder, as I was going to have it treated by Javier Hernandez Campos in the evening, I thought they would fix me afterwards (with also all the work from Javier Iglesias). Now it feels better, but I think I will give it the day off to recover better. The forecast is so good for all the rest of the week that I dont want to fuck it up now and I prefer to be "full power"!

MY DAY AND A HALF LIKE A NORMAL GIRL...

Remember I told you about my last weekend with my girlfirends? well... this is what more "normal" girls do while I get punished and pounded on the waves... we actually did a few more things...better not to put the pics up!

Ay, ay, ay.... today it was still pretty windy and still some fun waves are around. But today I decided to go to Pozo instead of Vargas just to change a bit. It was super fun sailing, 3,3 pretty powered up... I have been super happy this summer as i was landing loads of Backloops... but today I was doing rubbish! honestly... no idea wha-da-hell was i doing!!!! i wasnt feeling it at all!!! didnt even know what i was doing!!! men! i landed only 2, and pretty sketchy ones to be honest....and the ones i didnt make... they were not even close! my God! what a day! devastated! oh well....tomorrow we'll see.... the riding was good fun though!!! I cant wait for it to be tomorrow and try again....

FULL WEEKEND.. WE ARE SO LUCKY...

I had a diiferent weekend this last one. We have had some awesome condtions last week here, and I could sail until saturday lunch time. loads of fun.. some good waves.... but I had to join some of my non-windsurf girlfriends in one of my best friends hen-night (i dont know how to write that word??) who's getting married soon. we went to this Mega Pimp hotel (proper PIMP). it was pretty fun. It was everything amazing and we had quite a good fun. Saturday was easy, as i sailed in the morning so it was ok... but on sunday, we were staying also in the hotel for the whole day.. and that was the hard part. I knew the sailing was going off, but i could not really go.... men!!!! it is so weird to be like a normal people!!!! they pretty much love to do nothing... and i cant stand it for more than a day... it was good fun cause it was for my best friends and it was quite special, we dont have many times when we can all be together, so it was cool.. but i could not imagine myself doing that every weekend!!!! we are sooo lucky we do what we do!!!!! tomorrow the forecast looks still pretty good.. so i can sail all i could not today!!!!! :-)))

I love this place, I love this sport, I love my equipment, i just love it!!
Today I had pretty awesome day as well... it is soooo nice just sailing as you want... not worrying about saving yourself not to get injured, or too tired, or training, or anything.... just do what you feel!!! we had an early session today as well (not too early to be honest!) , and it was so worth it! 3,3 nicely powered up, nice size waves (head high on the good sets) and just a few friends on the water... and my equipment feels just amazing!!! i have never really been much of a jumper, but now, with my new sails, I just cant get enough.... and my twin fin... it is just amazing for riding... I cant wait to tomorrow.. but the forecast says it will be a lo stronger, what is not nice, and a lot bigger, what is nice if the wind is not too crazy... we'll see!

JUST FUN SAILING

Today I had a pretty good day. the forecast was pretty average, but when I got up I thought I would give it a try to an early session in Vargas with low tide pushing in. Summer is the best season, but with all the contest back to back, I never get to enjoy much anymore... and sail just for fun! it was 3,7 weather for me, just fine. small waves, but like I said, very fun sailing. Finally, after about two months, I was sailing just for fun, with no contest or training feeling in my mind. I was with just a couple of friends on the water, and it felt sooooo good.... the forecast is promising for the next few days.... but you can never trust the forecast anymore! lets hope for the best!

AMAZING PLACE TO STAY IN FUERTEVENTURA!!!!!

One of my friends has just open some new amazing Villas to rent in Fuerteventura, and in the best spot they could be. they are in the lovely Village of Lajares, right in the north shore. They are cute villages design carefully to fit qith the area and at the same time to have everything you need.. including Spa!!!!!! if you are thinking about your next holiday over there, have a look at the villages here, they are worth staying there, I promise!!!

Ayer en Vargas sucedio lo que no habia pasado nunca. Se llevaron el coche de una de las amiga que navega. en su interior tenia unas cuantas velas, que seguramente intentaran vender. Son Hot Sails, por si se las intentan vender a alguien que sepan que son robadas, y si puede ser avisen.

FUERTE IS OVER: END OF THE SUMMER EVENTS!

Hello..... the Fuerteventura event finished with not many changes. The heat-wave stayed there until saturday evening and didnt let the wind blow properly. so the result stayed the same and I did 4th!! pretty happy to be honest! Big Congratulation to Yoli de Brendt!! she did her first podium in the event and she was beyond happy!!! well done! also to Sarah for sure big congrats and to Daida! and to Junkillo Nagoshi as well, who finished 3rd overall for the year in Freestyle.

Now it is time to chill a bit at home... we'll see what "the flow" brings this month!!!
