UPDATE....

hello, hello....

Well... yep. still howling. yep. still.

A few days ago we had one day where the wind dropped a bit and it was soooooo nice. but then it kicked back again. The photoshoot with Fanatic is going well. it is hard as i am so freeking overpowered but it is really good to be on the water watching the guys doing big jumps, and doubles and even pushy-forwards! so good to see it from so close!!!

Today looks like the waves picked up, but the wind is still strong (my 3,2.... why didnt I bring you with me.....) and the forecast doesnt look like it will drop in the next week!!! what am I gonna do!

IN MAUI, STRUGGLING...

well, I am back in Maui since two days ago. Man! it is so windy!!! I am struggling. I didn't have a very good day today. We started the Fanatic photoshoot, what is really cool, but it was so windy that I sailed really bad. and the worst is that it is really frustrating, because I am sailing with Victorn, Brawzinho, Klaas and all the time they rip... so good! I was on my 3,7 and couldn't turn. I f*cked up so much... and got fully punished! fun though, but proper punishment. I regret so much I didnt bring my 3,3. Now I just want to go to bed, forget about today and hopefully tomorrow it will be a bit lighter winds (yeeee right.. no way...) oh well... we'll see...

MY SESSION YESTERDAY

hey! Julio León, from "el gran Surf" www.elgransurf.com just sent me these pics from yesterday's session in the North. at this time it was pretty high tide already, but anyway it was still super fun. i dingged my board, again, as i went on the rocks, for a change! it was no wind at all on the actual wave.. so a bit tricky. on the out side it was fine, but on the inside not so much. Eric was also out there with his SUP ripping!!!

RESPECT... (and glad thats not me..)

I just saw this picture on Kevs blog. that gives a bit of perspective. Respect. he says on his blog he didnt really have a very good time and a hard time to come back swimming to the beach. that is another world of sailing, of waves and another level of big waves as well..

I was back on the water today. i hope i wont get sick again. (I am sure i wont!) some surfing in the morning and even some wave sailing in the afternoon. secret spot (not so secret, but sounds "cool"...) north shore starboardtack. the tide was a bit too high, but when it was lower, in the beggining, it was pretty good.

I am sick. yep. Again. not too bad, but enough to keep me home. it is true that I havent really stopped properly since I arrived and it seems that the only way for me to take a proper day rest is getting sick. yesterday I was feeling weird, but after looking for wind for a few hours, I thought I better went home ad rest. But in the end, even feeling a bit cold and tired, I thought: "well, maybe just a quick surfing session to be on the water at least". Bad call. at night I was getting sick and today I woke up with my throat pretty sore. oh well! nice day lazying at home, sleeping and watching all the tv I havent seen in months!.

GOOD AND BAD....

The good: it was windy and wavy.
The bad: day 1 i couldnt hold onto my sail I was sooo over powered. Ended up getting washed and dinged my board in 3 places.
day 2 the wind dropped, i crash on the rock 3 times, whacked my foot really hard and dinged my board one more time.
but it is all good.

After I arrived home tuesday morning, I had a few days off. I was knackered! but then it was pretty windy and i couldnt handle being at home not sailing. yesterday was beyond windy!!!! on 3,3 fully overpowered. The boys were on their 3,7s, so that means windy! and today, there was still good swell around, but the wind dropped completely pretty early. The weather was pretty weird an that is not good for here. after i packed my gear, we decided to go for a drive up to the mountains. It has been a super good winter in terms of rain, so it was all nice and green. and it is such a contrast from being at the beach all day, that we really enjoyed! Gran Canaria is so beautiful!!!!

MY DAKHLA EXPERIENCE....

I am finally home!!!!!! it has been a great trip. the last week i was invited to go to Morocco for a Festival of music and sport, together with other windsurfers, surfers, longboarders and kiters. It was a great new experience. We stayed in "Haima" camps. Inever did anything like this before, so it was super cool. I was staying with Anne Mary (Reichmann), Karin (Jaggi), Valentina Crugnola and Marion Raisi, along wth a lot of other people (actually i met a lot of really nice people!!!!). We had a really good time together with the Women from Dakhla and teach them a bit of sailing and SUP, and they teach us about the Henna tatoos (i dont know how to write Henna? is that correct? Henna?? well.. you know what i mean....), their games and their lifes.

We were not very lucky with the wind, but we had awsome glassy surfing days and some windsurfing also in really light wind the last two days, but pretty fun sessions! actually it was a good break from the strong winds from Oz.

I am pretty tired now, but hopefully will have a good night sleep and rest well, as the forecast is looking good for the next few days!!!!
